When Dean Zelinsky parted ways with Dean Guitars, he formed DBZ Guitars. This occurred in 2008 and since then, DBZ Guitars exist. Their headquarters are situated in Houston, TX and the concept of DBZ Guitars is to give Mr Zelinsky bigger influence on company policy and guitar design. Cavallo AB is one of the newest creations from this young, yet very experienced brand, it comes with a slightly modified Flying V contour with enlarged tail fins. It`s big body ensures massive sustain, though it might seem a bit un-ergonomic due to it`s sheer size. It`s made of mahogany back with carved maple top. top is finished in high gloss and it`s bound in abalone binding. There is no pickguard featured on this guitar. Bridge section is very familiar to all fans of Mr Zelinsky`s work, it includes a nickel-plated tune-o-matic bridge with string-through-body construction. Pickups are made by DBZ and both the bridge and neck pickups come in form of active humbuckers. Master volume, master tone and three-way toggle switch are accompanied by a push-pull coil splitter. Neck on this model is made of mahogany and it is set-in, Fast and comfortable contour is featured in the back. This neck is topped with an ebonized fingerboard with 22 frets. These frets are marked with dot inlays.
